Grand Canyon University is currently seeking a Web Developer to develop all web applications in support of Enrollment Counselors by performing the following duties: • Performs web design for all pre-enrollment sites and the alumni site. • Builds user interface applications and back-end databases using various programming and scripting languages. • Authors complex Web pages. • Assists in project planning and Web site design. • Designs database for lead gathering. • Determines new Web technologies to utilize, such as browsers, languages, and plug-ins, based on company's needs. • Other duties as assigned. Skills / Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Other Skills and Abilities: Applied knowledge of web scripting languages (PHP). Understanding of application development principles and methodologies (e.g. OPP, Extreme Programming, etc). Applied knowledge of Internet applications (e.g. browsers) their similarities and differences. Understanding of version control methodologies, practices, and software (e.g. CVS and SubVersion). Applied knowledge of Linux or FreeBSD operating systems. Understanding of BASH shell scripting. Minimum 2 years actively designing with (X)HTML, DHTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Minimum 2 years actively developing with PHP scripting language. Minimum 2 years actively working with and configuring Apache.
