Job: Systems Test Engineer

The candidate for this position accepts and solves the most difficult technical problems in domain of expertise. Conducts environmental, operational, or performance test on electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical, products, controls, and systems. Designs, develops and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products. Continues to expand knowledge in domain of expertise. Expertise is sought out regularly. Displays a depth of knowledge across multiple technical areas. Participates in development of technical strategies and teaming strategies on multiple projects. Leads medium sized technical proposals and contributes to large proposals. Strong advocate of continuous process improvement. Leads large sized continuous process improvement efforts. Unlimited contact within the entire division. Effectively bridges functional boundaries through listening to and comprehending concerns of both technical and management communities.

BS Degree in a technical field related to systems test engineering + 9 years of demonstrated results, or equivalent experience; Advanced Degree recommended. Large scale communication systems integration experience (satellite, mobile phone systems, radio systems, etc.) Test plan/case generation. Active in continuous learning. Mentors multiple members of the team. Lead technological & team efficiency problems. Develops team solutions with little oversight. Leads the exploration of business concepts in area of expertise. Applies existing technology to create new opportunities for the business & the team. Demonstrates ingenuity in creating opportunity in the face of risk. Breaks down barriers to progress & motivates junior members of the team to action. LMR knowledge and experience is a plus.
